Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI/ML Researcher to join our innovation lab. The successful candidate will be a leader in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning with a deep expertise in ideally natural language processing (NLP), generative AI and graph neural networks. The Senior AI/ML Researcher will be responsible for leading and conducting cutting-edge research projects, developing innovative algorithms and models, and producing high-quality research outputs that advance the research lab’s strategic goals. This role involves working collaboratively with a team of researchers and third-party stakeholders, communicating research findings to various audiences, and contributing to the development of research strategies and funding proposals. The role will be agile and changeable as the business grows and adapts over the coming months, with a mix of pure research and support in strategizing for the principal research outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct cutting-edge research projects, with a focus on developing innovative algorithms and models that leverage NLP, generative AI and graph neural networks to solve complex research problems in the field of AI and machine learning.
  • Develop and implement research plans and methodologies that align with the research lab’s strategic priorities, working collaboratively with a team of researchers and third-party stakeholders to ensure research objectives are met.
  • Work with internal Tintra stakeholders within the Innovation Lab to identify and prioritise focused areas of AI/ML research.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets related to AI and machine learning using appropriate statistical methods and software, with a focus on uncovering new insights and trends that can be used to drive innovation in the field.
  • Produce high-quality research outputs, including peer-reviewed publications, reports, and presentations, that showcase the research lab’s contributions and impact in the field of AI and machine learning.
  • Communicate research findings to various audiences, including academic and non-academic stakeholders, with a focus on translating technical findings into actionable insights and driving impact in the broader community.
  • Contribute to the development of research strategies and funding proposals that advance the research lab’s strategic goals, working collaboratively with researchers and third-party stakeholders to identify research priorities and funding opportunities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers, with a focus on fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the research lab.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on AI and machine learning.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of research experience in AI and machine learning, with a strong record of publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
  • Demonstrated expertise in NLP and graph neural networks, with a deep understanding of the underlying theoretical and methodological principles of these areas.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead and manage research projects from conception to completion within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex research findings to various audiences and collaborate effectively with team members and third-party stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop research strategies and funding proposals that align with the strategic priorities of a research lab.
  • Proven mentorship skills, with a focus on fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within a research team.
