Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment yesterday of Dr Andrew Bowen as an Independent Non-Executive Director for the next stage of the Group’s progress.

Dr Bowen is the Managing Director of his own advisory firm, a Senior Counsellor to Palantir Technologies and an investment advisor to several prominent family offices in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition, he is a member of the investment team of MD1, a venture capital fund focused on national security innovation.

Andrew has held research fellowships at the American Enterprise Institute, the Wilson Center, the Center for National Interest, and the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. His research and writings have focused on geopolitics, geo-economics, and international history.

Andrew received a Ph.D. in International Relations and an M.Sc. in International History from the London School Economics, as well as a B.A. in Political Science from Rice University.

Dr Bowen said, “We often discuss these days Web 3.0 and the rise of this post-modern metaverse but often forget that a super majority of the world’s population still can’t transact with one another on the most basic of transactions. These barriers and the costs associated with them have yet to be broken and Tintra is one of the few technology companies seeking to break that last ceiling in global finance. As resurgent nationalism is dividing the world presently, there are opportunities to still make the global economy more connected and efficient. Tintra has brought together a strong team of technologists and financial services veterans to disrupt finance sensibly and sustainably.

Richard Shearer, Tintra’s CEO, said, “Whilst we are first and foremost a tech company building the world’s first Web 3.0 Bank using artificial intelligence driven RegTech, a large point of our differentiation as we build out our model is the geo-political and geo-fiscal landscape that sits at the heart of the cross-border issues we discuss, which are often neglected as part of the macro discussion.

To build an AI engine that truly solves the issues rather than simply pays lip service to them, we need to think differently. And we very much do.

It is precisely to that end that Dr Bowen’s addition gives us even deeper in-house geopolitical thinking and an exceptionally experienced international relations mind as we navigate regional governments, regulators and cultures.

I’m delighted to welcome Andrew to our Board. His certainty in the need for our model in the marketplace, and Tintra’s ability to execute on it, is something I find extremely encouraging and I very much look forward to working with him and drawing on his vast experience.”
